The Clearing is set to hit Hulu on May 24, 2023, at 12.01 am ET as reported by CinemaBlend. The thriller series has been majorly inspired by a real-life cult run by a female leader named Anne Hamilton-Byrne in Australia. The plot of The Clearing centers around a woman who is pressured to face her dark past when a dangerous cult kidnaps children “to fulfill its master plan,” reads the IMDb synopsis. The eight-part psychological TV series has been helmed by Gracie Otto and Jeffrey Walker.

The Wooden Horse-produced crime drama roped in Teresa Palmer (known for her work in The Sorcerer's Apprentice), Gracie Otto’s sister Miranda Otto (Éowyn in The Lord of the Rings), and Guy Pearce (Primetime Emmy Award winner for Mildred Pierce) in July last year.
