With ‘The X Factor’ due to make its comeback to our screens on Saturday 2 September, here at CelebMix, we thought we would take a look at some of the show’s standout moments from over the years.
There has been everything from dramatic contestants to the show finding some superb singers and groups who have gone on to be incredibly successful – such as Little Mix, Olly Murs, One Direction, James Arthur, to name a few.
Furthermore, there have been changes to the judging line-up and a range of presenters. However, one thing has remained the same – every single year, we are entertained by the show and the level of talent seems to increase!
1. The Winning Moments
There’s no doubt that each year, a highlight of the show is when the winner is revealed. After having a look on YouTube, we managed to find a video which showed every winning moment since the show began all those years ago! Winners of the show over the years include Alexandra Burke, Little Mix and Matt Terry. We’re already excited for the Final of the show this year too!
2. Stereo Kicks – ‘Run’
Despite only being put together a few hours prior to this performance, eight-piece boy band Stereo Kicks surprised everyone with their debut performance of Leona Lewis’ ‘Run’ in Boot Camp. The band went on to progress through Live Shows, before finishing in fifth place on the show back in 2014.
3. Josh Daniel – ‘Jealous’
When Josh Daniel performed Labrinth’s ‘Jealous’ at his first audition – in memory of his best friend – the audience, Judges and viewers felt the emotion in his performance. Unfortunately, Josh didn’t make it to Live Shows. However, his audition remains one of the most popular auditions – receiving over 62 million views to date.
4. Alexandra Burke and Beyoncé Duet
Quite possibly one of the most iconic duets in X Factor history took place back in 2008 between Alexandra Burke and a musical icon, Beyoncé. Introducing Beyoncé as her ‘hero,’ this was a phenomenal duet of ‘Listen.’ No duet that has taken place on the Final has topped this one – we think it would be impossible to beat it!
5. Ella Henderson – ‘Believe’
In her initial audition, she impressed Judges with her original song. However, in Bootcamp, she did a rendition of Cher’s ‘Believe’ – reducing Judge Nicole Scherzinger to tears following her performance, with Nicole also stating that the Judges were ‘in awe of her.’
There have been many stand-out moments from over the years – it was an incredibly difficult choice trying to choose five!
