EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Mo Pitney

June 2024 · 3 minute read

Country music artist Mo Pitney will be returning to the UK later this year for three shows at C2C (Country 2 Country Festival). The rising US sensation has also released a new double sided single featuring the tracks ‘A Boy and A Girl Thing’, and ‘Clean Up On Aisle Five’.

Here we speak exclusively to Mo Pitney about his upcoming UK gigs, the British country scene, and 2018 career goals;

How excited are you about returning to the UK later this year?

Extremely! Our first trip over was one of the most memorable so far… so having a repeat is most definitely an exciting thought.

How do you feel the British audience differs from that of the US?

I feel like there is a larger audience that is more reverent to the art form in the songwriting and the tradition country music carries. There is that audience here I just believe it’s the smaller one.

The UK country scene is continuing to grow, how excited are you about the growth?

Well seeing that the growth could give us more frequent trips over the pond causes me to really route for the growth!

What’s your favourite thing about visiting the UK?

The atmosphere of the longer routed history everywhere you turn!

You’re performing at C2C this year, what can fans expect from your set?

We try to let everything we do really be about the music.. I will most likely play quite a few songs off our first record and probably let people into the inspiration behind the songs then may play some older type country music while also introducing New songs for the upcoming album or albums!

Which acts are you hoping to catch live there?

I believe all wait to see what catches my attention in the moment!

What can fans expect from your upcoming tour?

This particular one will be more of a strip down to mostly me and my guitar on a stool possibly a few shows with my brother and sister involved…

Are there any Brit country acts you would like to collaborate with?

I’m really open to collaborate with anyone I cross paths with in the right place at the right time :-)

How do you feel the UK and US country scenes compare?

You know I don’t think I’ve really studied the differences.. I think we’re all artists that are making music that we hope to connect to a Fanbase with… Some are just jumping through the hoops here and others jumping through the hoops there.. lol

What are your 2018 career goals?

They may not be as high as others but I think they are as important as any other. 1. Make the best record possible 2. Work hard 3. See where God decides to take it.
