Saul "Canelo" Alvarez made an appearance on the Full Send Podcast earlier this week ahead of his Saturday fight against Jermell Charlo and admitted he doesn't respect Jake Paul as a boxer, but still entertained the idea of one day fighting him.
Alvarez, 33, might still step inside the ring with Paul in an exhibition after retiring from professional boxing. When asked if he respected him as a fighter, however, Canelo was quick to say no, but acknowledged his business-saavy mind.
"I think it's good because other people who never watch boxing, they don't know anything about boxing. They want to watch Jake Paul because he brings fans from other worlds, not boxing fans.
"That's good because everybody enjoys it. What they do, I think they do for business, and you need to respect that."
CAnelo Alvarez vs. Jake Paul
Alvarez spoke about how Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to box in exhibition matches just to make more money, and he might do the same against Paul.
"When I'm done with boxing, why not? Maybe," Canelo said. Maybe I do it. Why not?"
Canelo is set to take on Charlo on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
